Bowl on Foot

Spanish

Not on view

Footed bowls, especially in glass, were made in Mamluk Egypt, but the shape of this example became common during the Renaissance and was even illustrated in paintings. The ornamental design on this bowl was popular in the province of Valencia; an albarello in the collection is decorated in the same fashion.
