Peccatte was born in Mirecourt, France, but moved to Paris in 1826 to join the violin workshop of Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. In 1836, he went to to work for Francois Lupot, taking over that business when Lupot died in 1838. He returned to Mirecourt in 1847 and retired from bow making in 1872.
Description: Round pernambuco stock, head faced with ivory, ebony frog inlaid with mother-of-pearl, silver button. Frog and screw button not original; stick repaired in two places (William Salchow, April 1977).
