Fragment of a figure holding a multistrand coil of beads, preceded by another individual
Middle Kingdom
This fragment of relief was discovered during excavations by the Museum in the pyramid complex of Senwosret I at Lisht South. The decoration, delicately carved and then painted, preserves part of an offering procession. On the proper right edge of the piece is part of the leg of a servant, whose long-fingered hand grasps a necklace composed of multiple strands of ball beads.
