This finger bowl (1988.391.2a) and plate, each engraved with a finely detailed Great Seal of the United States, are probably part of the 520-piece service ordered in 1891 by President Benjamin Harrison. Its cut design, the "Russian" pattern, was one of the most intricate and defined the era of such richly cut glass.
