This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.
This long-sleeved uchikake has a rich repeating pattern of fans, phoenixes, chrysanthemums, and floral medallions enclosing hexagons. The design is woven with various shades of brown and light blue silk on a blue-green silk satin ground. It is lined with red silk crepe and padded at the hem.
