Clock case
Manufactory Meissen Manufactory German
This clock case is one of the most ambitious pieces of Meissen porcelain made in the early years of the factory. Its scale and sculptural program distinguish it from other pieces of Meissen made at this time, and the relatively few clock cases produced at Meissen in the course of the eighteenth century reflect the technical challenges and costs of making such large and complex pieces of porcelain.
