Plate 72, Two sections of a bas-relief related to Meleager. The top fragment shows the death of Meleager, who is surrounded by his sisters, his mother Althaea, his father Oeneus, and Atalanta. The bottom fragment shows the three Fates gathered around a flame and burning stick that they had predicted would coincide with the death of Meleager. This plate appears at the end of the volume, in a section of nineteen plates (and four half-page unnumbered images) with ancient statues and bas-reliefs. Unlike the plates in the rest of the volume, these are not accompanied by descriptive text.
