Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains textile (?) designs with stylized flowers and leaves. The upper and lower parts of the sheet have thin, horizontal garlands with semi-abstract flowers and leaves, possibly meant as designs for borders or ribbons. There are five rectangles with textile designs: the first with paisley leaves and interlacing strips with rosettes and scrolling leaves, executed with white on a black ground; the second with thin, interlacing branches with stylized leaves and short, undulating branches with flowers and leaves, colored with black on a clear ground; the third with a semi-abstract honeycomb pattern made up of branches with leaves, executed with white on a black ground with white dots; the fourth with scrolling motifs and a garland of stylized flowers; and the fifth with a semi-abstract pattern with branches, rosettes, and pearls, executed with white on black ground. Several small bundles of stylized flowers and leaves are in the center of the sheet, to the sides of the design in the middle. The designs are executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper.
