Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This page consists of textile (?) designs with garlands of flowers and leaves. Framing both sides of the sheet are six designs for borders or ribbons, made up of undulating branches with semi-abstract flowers and leaves of different kinds, in-between two thin, vertical stripes made out of small, black rectangles. Between the designs for borders are a variety of thin bundles and garlands with semi-abstract flowers and leaves, and one scrolling paisley shape, which would have likely been used in textile designs. The designs are executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper, and were likely created to be used in printed textiles or wallpapers; the final designs would have likely been executed with lively colors.
