«We all know how strenuous school can be, and sometimes we need a break. Teens Take The Met is the perfect place and time to have some fun! This Friday, May 20, will be the first time I attend Teens Take The Met, and I'm so excited!»

As a high school intern at The Met, I spent the first half of my internship designing a rug under Artist in Residence Peter Hristoff's guidance. It was an amazing experience. His knowledge of rugs is vast and insightful, and our final designs were woven in Turkey! Designing a rug made me yearn for the opportunity to weave, so I'm enthusiastic about taking part in Mega-Loom Weavings, which will be led by Hristoff. In the activity, teens will channel their wishes for the world and take inspiration from art at The Met in a live, interactive weaving activity. It will be a great time to ask him questions about his work with rugs and where the tradition derives from.

I also can't wait to play Met Metaphor, a game designed by graduate students from New York University's Game Center in collaboration with The Met's MediaLab. I helped test it out, so I know how enjoyable the final product will be. Visitors will be prompted to think outside of the box while exploring art. I can't wait to see other people's interpretations of the prompts and artworks. Met Metaphor has everything I want in a game: creativity, collaboration, competition, art, and an exclusive prize for the winners. Oh, you can bet I'll be playing!

Teens Take The Met, this Friday, May 20, is a night I'm sure I won't forget. It's an opportunity to make new friends, let loose, and explore old and new passions. See you there!
