A young man and his female companion in long-sleeved kimono grasp hold of an umbrella as she tries to recover her footing in the snow. In the background is a snow-covered pine tree, complementing the theme of the accompanying poem. The series title, alluding to the classical painting theme of the Eight Views of Xiao and Xiang, suggests that the setting is Uchikawa in Kanazawa, a coastal area of Yokohama.
