The names of the actors and roles have been inscribed by hand on this diptych, which records performances of the play Shinobu Koi Suzume no Irodoki 忍恋雀色時 (Tokiwazu jōruri), performed as the Kiri Theater in Edo, in the eleventh month of 1794 (Kansei 6).
