ラ・フリリューズ

フリリューズとは、寒さに弱い女性を意味します。現在モンペリエのファーブル美術館に収蔵されている大理石の彫刻(1783年)は、元々「冬」の寓意像でした。ウードン本人が鋳造した当館所蔵のこのブロンズ像は、オルレアン公のコレクションに収蔵されていたものです。作品は、螺旋を描く柱状の構図で、必要最小限の要素の表現にとどまっています。震える体にきつく巻かれたショールは、優雅な反面、寒さを防ぐには十分ではない印象です。
