猫を抱く女
グリザイユ(単色画)で描かれたこの力強い裸婦像は、球、円錐、そして円筒などの図形で描かれており、飾り気のないシンプルな構図は、赤、黄、黒、白という限定された色彩に合致しています。レジェは読書や茶を飲む大柄の女性を描いた作品群を制作しましたが、この作品はそのうちの1点であり、1918年から1923年までの彼の「機械時代」の堂々とした人物のスタイルを表した好例です。
