Esta mulher nua pintada em grisaille e composta por esferas, cones e tubos apresenta grande impacto visual. A simplicidade da composição coincide com a reduzida palheta de cores que inclui apenas vermelho, amarelo, branco e preto. O quadro faz parte de um grupo de representações de figuras femininas monumentais—algumas delas lendo, outras tomando chá—que tipifica o estilo do artista durante seu período “mecânico” entre 1918 e 1923.
