A Dutch Burgomaster, after Bartholomeus van der Helst, from "Etchings of Pictures in the Metropolitan Museum New York"
Jacquemart made this print after the painting (71.73) by Van der Helst as part of a portfolio of prints celebrating the founding collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The sitter appears at a slightly tilted angle in the etching when compared with the painting today, which suggests the work was framed differently when the etcher made his copy.
