1759년 12월 29일, 수많은 왕실 의뢰를 받았던 성공적인 파리 주민이자 고급가구 제작자였던 질 주베르는 베르사유의 루이 15세 서재를 위해 이 필사용 테이블을 공급하였습니다. 표면 장식은 18세기 중반에 프랑스에서 가구를 위한 표면 마무리로서 유행했던 적색과 황색의 중국 옻칠을 모방한 것입니다. 부분적으로 뚫어진 금동 장식은 필사용 테이블의 우아한 곡선을 강조할 뿐만 아니라 광택 나는 심홍색 옻칠 표면을 보호하고 테 역할을 하고 있습니다. 이 필사용 테이블은 1793 –94년에 왕실 소유물의 혁명적 매매가 이루어지기까지 베르사유에 남아 있었습니다.
