조상 부부
인도네시아 지역 플로레스 섬에 거주하던 나지족 조상의 부부를 형상화한 뛰어난 조각품으로 부족의 설립자를 형상화했다고 추정됩니다. 조상의 영혼과 그 밖의 초자연적인 존재를 묘사한 인간의 이미지(아나디오)는 주로 신전과 관련되어 있습니다. 이 조각은 원래 신전에서 제례의식에 쓰이는 말 형상 위에 앉아 있었으나 이후에 다른 곳으로 옮겨져 신성시되는 물건으로 보존된 것으로 추정됩니다. 이 조각품은 주목적이 무엇이든—남성이 부드럽게 그의 배우자를 감싸고 있는—신성한 위엄을 강렬하게 나타내고 있습니다.
