남성 입상

두 손을 합장하고 눈을 크게 뜬 채 응시하고 있는 이 입상은 신전에서 발굴되었으며, 다른 11개의 입상과 함께 제례용으로 부장되었습니다. 이러한 12개의 입상은 모두 신 앞에서 영원히 기도하는 숭배자상이었을 것으로 생각합니다. 커다란 두상에 조개껍질과 흑석회암으로 상감세공을 한 돌출한 눈이 이 입상의 특징입니다. 각진 수염의 양 옆으로 양식화된 머릿단이 떨어져 내리며, 머리카락과 수염에는 제작 당시 채색했던 역청의 흔적이 보입니다. 이 입상은 초기 왕조 시대의 사실적인 작품과 동시대에 제작된 수메리아 조각에 나타난 추상 기하학 양식을 보여줍니다.
