Profile Bust of George Washington
Robert Ball Hughes arrived in New York from London by the 1850s, he seems to have given up sculpture completely. This wax portrait bust of George Washington was probably executed sometime after 1835, when Hughes' financial situation forced him to produce small-scale portraits.
