육체와 정신을 치유하는 불교의 교리는아시아 전역에 불교가 전파되는 데 중요한 역할을 하였습니다. 이 벽화에서 약사여래(약사불)는 붉은 옷을 입고 있으며 해와 달의 상징물을 손에 들고 앉아 있는 일광과 월광 보살을 좌우 협시로 두고 그 외 여러 신들을 함께 거느리고 있습니다. 좌우에 여섯 명씩 배치된 12신장상은 부처의 중생 구제 약속을 상징합니다. 둥근 얼굴의 원기왕성한 부처상과 얕은 공간 구성은 14세기 초에 불교와 도교 회화를 그리며 활동했던 주호고의 특징적인 작품 양식을 반영하고 있습니다.
