“시모네티” 양탄자
이전 소유자의 이름을 따 “시모네티” 양탄자로명명된 이 뛰어난 직물은 맘루크 왕조시대의 가장 유명한 양탄자 중 하나입니다. 이 양탄자는 바닥에 까는 유형의 양탄자로서는 대형이며 일반적인 한 개 또는 세 개보다 많은 다섯 개의 원형 문양이 있고 더욱 다양하면서 약간 더 밝은 색상을 유지하고 있습니다. 맘루크 왕조시대에 이집트에서 제작되었을 가능성이 높은 이러한 양탄자는 상대적으로 거친 직조술과 제한된 색상을 감안하면 놀라울 정도로 풍부한 외관을 보여줍니다. 이 양탄자는 전체적으로 빛나는 모자이크와 같은 효과를 내고 있습니다.
