십자가에서 내림을 묘사한 부조
십자가에서 내림을 묘사한 이 상아 부조는 그리스도 수난의 장면들이 표현된 현존하는 다섯 개의 장식판 중 하나이며 나머지 네 개의 장식판은 현재 안트베르펜, 런던, 오슬로, 파리의 박물관에 나뉘어 소장되어 있습니다. 이들 장식판은 제단 뒤의 선반(리테이블)에 부착하는 연속된 프리즈로서 제작되었지만 다섯 장식판 모두가 동일한 리테이블에 속했던 것 같지는 않습니다. 동시기에 제작된 석재와 목재 작품과 같이 이 장식판도 건물 지주에 부착되었다가 후에 넓고 평평한 고래뼈에 다시 접착되었을 것으로 추정합니다.십자가에서 내림 장식판의 섬세한 조각술, 세련되고 명쾌한 동작과 유려한 의복 표현을 통해 14세기 전반 파리에서 제작된 상아 부조임을 알 수 있습니다.
