대수도원장 베공 3세(재직 1087–1107년)는 콩크의 수도원을 위해 귀중한 작품의 제작을 의뢰하였습니다. 이 작품의 독특한 기법, 양식 및 색조는 필시 책 표지로부터 유래했으며 책 표지로 사용되었을 것이 거의 확실합니다. 각 부분은 2매의 동판을 중첩하여 제작했는데 하부 판은 가는 금속 띠(철사)로 인물의 얼굴과 의복을 묘사하고 상부 판은 인물과 십자가 윤곽을 나타내기 위해 절단되었습니다.
