안드레아 아마티
가장 오래된 현악기 제작자인 안드레아 아마티는 바이올린의 우아한 형태를 정립하고 아울러 자신의 두 아들과 손자 니콜로 아마티와 안토니오 스트라디바리를 포함한 그의 추총자들이 제작한 바이올린의 기본 특징을 확립하는 데 크게 공헌하였습니다. 현존하는 가장 오래된 이바이올린은 발루아 왕조의 백합 문장과 라틴어로 쓰인 좌우명 “이 종교는 언제나 유일한 요새일 것이다.”라는 글과 함께 스페인 펠리페 2세의 것으로 추정되는 문장으로 장식되었습니다. 카트린 드 메디치와 프랑스의 앙리 2세가 발루아 엘리자베스와 펠리페 2세의 결혼을 기념해 선물한 것 중 하나인 이 바이올린은 프랑스와 스페인 사이의 평화 조약을 기리는 뜻으로 제작되었습니다.
