Wine Vessel with Daoist Immortals

The eight figures belong to a group codified in the twelfth century due to the flowering of Daoist practices at the time. Often based on quasi-historical figures, they are distinguished from one another by the attributes they hold, including the gourds that influenced the shape of this ewer.
