“비너스” 이브닝 가운
크리스티앙 디오르의 작품인 “비너스”는 그가 즐겨 사용하던 18세기 연회색으로 제작되었습니다. 보디스와 스커트의 조개형 부분은 진주 같은 광택이 나는 파예트, 시퀸, 진주로 장식되어, 보티첼리의 회화 비너스의 탄생(1485년)에 묘사된 바다 조개의 모티브와 초승달 형상의 파도를 연상시킵니다. 제2차 세계대전 후 디오르는 우아한 시대의 환상에 목말라하던 사람들에게 벨 에포크 시대에 유행했던 가는 허리(코르셋 착용 시 실루엣)를 다시 보여 주었습니다. 이 디자인에서 어깨 끈이 없는 동의는 뼈를 넣어 지지하였습니다. 디오르는 미란 사람의 손을 통해 이루어지는 인공적인 것이라고 생각하였습니다. 어느 글에서 그는“나는 자연으로부터 여성을 해방시키는 꿈을 꿉니다”라고 말하였습니다.
