The Women and the Critical Eye series celebrates women collectors, curators, and artists to foster greater appreciation of works of art. This year, Met curator Kelly Baum will join in conversation with Wangechi Mutu, whose sculptures, The NewOnes, will free Us, have graced The Met's historic façade since September 2019. Together, they'll explore the artist's creative process as well as the works' presentation, iconography, and cultural and art historical references. Their discussion will also open out onto current events and the role of art institutions in promoting equity and justice. Learn more about the sculptures here.
