The Met Elects New Trustees Aaron I. Fleischman and Sacha Lainovic

(New York, September 12, 2018)—The Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today that it has elected two new members: Aaron I. Fleischman and Sacha Lainovic. The election took place at the September 12 meeting of the Board and was announced by Daniel Brodsky, the Museum’s Chairman. Mr. Fleischman will be an Honorary Trustee and Mr. Lainovic will serve as an Elective Trustee.

“It is a pleasure to welcome to the Museum’s Board two individuals who have already demonstrated a strong and longstanding commitment to the arts and to The Met,” said Mr. Brodsky in making the announcement. “With their collective experience in business, communications, investment, and law, and a personal interest in modern and contemporary art and African art, respectively, Aaron and Sacha both bring important dimensions to our Board. I look forward to working with them in their new leadership capacity over the coming years.”

At The Met, Mr. Fleischman endowed a curatorial position in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art in 2018. He is a former member of the department’s Visiting Committee. Together with his spouse, Linford L. Lougheed, he has supported several exhibitions, including a recent retrospective on David Hockney (2017).
