The book is richly illustrated with linocuts. The artists responsible are listed at the front, but few of the illustrations are signed.The artists were all associated with the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios (LEAR). Attributions written by Jean Carlot in pencil appear beneath many, but not all, the illustrations (for the second grade book see 39.16.28).
