Луи XIV изображен как Юпитер, олицетворяющий Воздух, восседающим на орле с молнией в одной руке и щитом в другой, в окружении птиц, бабочек, горнов и других духовых инструментов. Искусный рисунок, авторство которого приписывается Шарлю ле Бруну, вышит крестом на замысловатом фоне из серебряных нитей с позолотой, переплетенных «в ёлочку» и спиралевидно. Эта работа входила в серию из восьми портьер (четыре из них пополнили коллекцию Музея), вероятно, созданных для фаворитки короля, маркизы де Монтеспан. На них изображены Стихии и Времена года с Луи XIV, маркизой или одним из их детей в качестве центрального персонажа. Эта портьера предположительно была вышита в монастыре Святого Иосифа Покровителя в Париже.
