Germination

Krishna Reddy American, born India
1961
Not on view
“Germination” reflects Reddy’s training in India, where he studied with master artists, including Nandalal Bose, who believed in deep connections between art and nature and encouraged Reddy to engage the visual world, even in seemingly abstract works. The insect, like the seed, reflects Reddy’s desire to depict all aspects of the natural world, even the lesser noticed parts, such as those visible only through a magnifying glass or microscope, with great attention and detail.
