这尊库洛斯（青年）雕像是阿蒂卡最早的大理石人物雕像之一。其左脚在前、双手垂在身体两侧的僵硬姿势源自古埃及艺术。在整个公元前六世纪，古希腊雕刻家都采用了这种简单明确的姿势。这尊早期雕像作品主要采用了几何、甚至是抽象的形式，将人体结构的细节通过近似的手法完美地呈现出来。它曾伫立在一位年轻雅典贵族的墓前。
