饰板

这件饰板由一整块象牙雕制而成，曾装饰一只长方形盒子的一面。它是倭马亚哈里发统治时期（711 –1031年）在西班牙制作的一批十世纪和十一世纪的象牙作品之一。这批作品主要是为皇室家族而造，有的在首都科尔多瓦制成，有的在皇城马丁纳特·扎赫拉制成。由于倭马亚家族的叙利亚背景，这些象牙作品上的许多图案都可追溯到叙利亚也就不足为奇了。这块饰板上的叶状阿拉伯式花纹是古典时代晚期流行的藤蔓与爵床叶饰卷轴的风格化表现。
