修道院院长贝恭三世（于1087 –1107年在位）为他在孔克的修道院委托制作了宝贵的艺术品。这组因不同寻常的工艺、风格和色调而脱颖而出的作品可能曾是一本书的封面，几乎肯定就是这批委托制作的艺术品之一。金匠在每一块珐琅上都放置了一张铜片，下面部分以掐丝（金属丝）工艺刻画出人物形象和衣饰，上面部分则经过切割，以表现人物和十字架的轮廓。
