这件精细雕刻的陶器杰作有雕刻和镂空的外壳罩在结实的内胆上，堪与金属器物媲美。陶器表面的透雕细工包括哈比（神话中的鸟身女妖）、狮身人面像、四足兽和涡卷形饰，它们最初是以黑色点缀在钴蓝色上画成的。一层透明的绿松石釉覆盖整只水罐。罐口的波斯韵文是诗人鲁肯丁·库米的作品，靠近罐底的一首无名爱情诗中注明了水罐的制作日期。
