In relief, head of PanThe goat-god Pan is always portrayed with the shaggy legs, ears, and horns of a goat. His face is often given a brutish cast, but here he appears as a beautiful youth whose tousled hair and dreamy expression are the only indications that he is an unpredictable woodland being.
