Plate 1 of a series of eight plates of emblems dedicated to Cardinal Mazarin. This design presents two winged putti holding something over a crowned escutcheon on which are three stars. The putti on the left is holding a hat while the one on the right is holding a quiver carrying a halberd. At their feet is an inscribed ribbon. Beneath their feet is a large piece of fabric with the dedication to the Cardinal.
