This small etching served as a frontispiece for the American Art-Union's "Transactions" (see 24.66.338 for a copy of the pamphet). It advertized the work chosen in 1846 to be engraved on a large scale for subscriber-members–George Caleb Bingham's "The Jolly Flat Boat Men."
