Design for a costume for a masked woman, possible from Malta or Spain (?), one of 34 Costume designs for N. Evreinoff's play 'The Chief Thing', produced at the Theater Guild, New York City, 1926. Her costume consists of a long, black and white diamond patterned coat with wide sleeves and black, ruffled borders, over a black dress. A black scarf is tied around her head, also covering most of her face. Black and white gloves complement the costume.
