The book originally had 307 wood engravings, culs de lampe, ornamental letters and decorative borders. There were a total of 350 editions, of which 3 are on verge d'Arches paper with the wood engravings handcolored with watercolor by Émile Bernard. Additionally, 25 were printed 'hors commerce' by Marthe Fréquet on a hand press (such as this one). All editions were published by Ambroise Vollard.
