Plate 12 of a series of designs for doors and mantel pieces. This design presents a mantel piece. Over the fireplace is a small rectangular frame with a drapery. On either side are foliate masks seen in profile. Over the mantel shelf are a fantastical mask, shields, arrows and quivers, and a rectangualr frame. On either side are consoles with hanging garlands.
