Sir Muirhead Bone British, Scottish

Not on view

Sir Muirhead Bone was a Scottish printmaker and watercolor artist noted for his depictions of architectural and industrial subjects, city views, landscapes, and his work as a war artist in both the First and Second World Wars. Here, he depicted the River Blyth waterfront of the village of Walberswick, located on the Suffolk coast of England, when the main forms of transport were horses, horse-drawn wagons, and boats. The ferry linked Walberswick to the town of Southwold on the north side of the river.
