Description

This design for a commercial publisher's binding was inspired by sixteenth-century European strapwork binding. It is covered in tan plain-weave reversed cloth, stamped in green, brown, and gold. The Museum's cover appears to have been removed from an actual book. It is inscribed "Harpers / 8 / Alice C. Morse."
