Clown in cubist costume
Design for theatrical clown costume, created by Sergey Chekhonin in Moscow, 1926. The clown is displayed in three-quarter view, wearing an outfit with cubist motifs, which consists of an orange jacket with large, gray collar, worn over a white shirt with blue, green, and black geometrical motifs, and wide trousers, made up of a short, black skirt, and with wide legs, one colored with yellow, and the other with geometrical motifs colored with green, black, and shades of purple, on a white ground. A black pointed hat completes the costume.
