Landscape with Road and Monument

Imitator of Jean Honoré Fragonard French
Former Attribution Jean Honoré Fragonard French
mid-18th century–early 19th century
Not on view
Long considered a drawing by Fragonard, this work is probably by an imitator whose technique is too weak to masquerade as anything else. It is likely a copy after a now-lost drawing, identical in size, sold by Edmond de Goncourt at the turn of the century.
