Fragment of Summer Kosode (Katabira)
A pattern of spring plants appears on this fragment of a robe meant for Japan's hot summers. The linenlike asa cloth is very cooling physically, and the pattern of plants associated with the freshness of spring must have had a similar psychological effect.
