This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.This drawing presents one of two options for a new overmantel updating an existing fireplace in the Hegeler House. It shows a frontal and profile view. This primary design is more finely drawn and includes various ornamental details in the woodwork, such as the carved bosses and crenelated cornice, along with various bric-a-brac on the mantel.
