Design drawing for double-window curtains for the Hegeler House, La Salle, Illinois
Returned to lender
This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.Compared to the other design drawings for the Hegeler commission, the design for the double-window curtains is rendered significantly looser in its sketch-like quality. The written note indicates that it was to be executed in blue silk lampas broché. The distinctive ornamental finial for the curtain rod was also used by Schastey throughout numerous rooms in the Worsham-Rockefeller House.
