Fire screen
Returned to lender
This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender. While this three-panel fire screen has no documented history, the treatment of the putti-head finials relates closely other works associated with Schastey & Co.’s shop. The firm worked almost exclusively on commission and did not maintain stock furniture until the 1890s, but frequently carried similar motifs across their projects.
